Vitrified tile absorbs almost nothing, so the bond has to come from the adhesive. Using a floor grade on a vitrified wall tile is the commonest reason a tile comes loose a year later.

Engineering Buying Checklist
- ✓ Match the grade to the tile and the location. The price gap between Type 1 and Type 2 is far less than relaying a floor.
- ✓ Check the manufacture date on the bag. Cement based adhesive loses strength as it ages.
- ✓ Store bags off the floor and out of the damp. A bag that has taken moisture will never reach its rated strength.
- ✓ Work out coverage at the actual bed thickness. Coverage figures assume three millimetres, and an uneven substrate uses far more.

Roughly four to five square metres from a 20 kg bag at a three millimetre bed, depending on grade and how flat the substrate is.
Can I collect from the plant? +
Yes, and on a full pallet that removes the freight from the quotation altogether.
